Penny Black And More Mid Month – November

pennyblacktag

this is my mid-november design team creation for the penny black and more challenge theme of anything goes! i watercoloured this tiny mouse image from the penny black jolly friends clear set (30-058) with distress inks and added some snow dots and stickles on the pom pom. there are some fabulous prizes and remember that to be eligible, your focal point has to be a stamped image and it can be any company’s stamped image, just no digis.

i also made this for the current jingle belles prompt by guest star and regular participant Marie Bingaman, who suggested family holiday traditions which, for marie, changed after the passing of her grandfather and then her father. christmas, like many other holidays, is more painful without a loved one and many families no longer participate in traditions or they create new ones. when my son passed away four years ago, everything changed and i had to force myself to accept the ‘new normal.’ our christmas is now a scaled down version so my tiny tag was inspired by the tiny tree, tiny ornaments and much smaller dinner.

since i used a tag from the cheery lynn designs (B261) which measures about 1 and 1/2″ tall, i’m also submitting this to the cheery lynn designs challenge blog.

thanks for popping by.

  1. yes, I agree … we have to make our own traditions and adapt to our world as it is … love your tiny little tag … he is so stinkin’ cute and your coloring is perfection … so glad you shared your holiday tradition with us at jingle belles.

  2. what a gorgeous tag, made all the more lovely by your wonderful philosophy of adapting and adjusting and finding joy wherever you can! love the idea of sizing the celebration to fit the new circumstances, but without giving it up! AWESOME!!!!!! (plus that mousie is just totally BEYOND adorable!!!) thanks for sharing your lovely work and inspiring words with us at JINGLE BELLES! <3

  3. So sorry for the pain of your loss. I think you have adapted your holidays well to these new sad circumstances.

Sweet little tag…coloured beautifully with those watercolours.
